Support in the Right Direction
Program Overview
Grampian Opportunities are pleased to have been one of the organisations to receive Support in the Right Direction (SiRD) funding for 2024-2027 and we are delighted to offer this dedicated service in Aberdeenshire.
Self-Directed Support (SDS) is how Social Care in Scotland has been delivered since 2014. The principles of SDS are that support is person-centred, and supported people and carers have choice.
Self-directed support is about giving people control of the support they receive and the life they want to lead.
To be included in every stage of the journey, and to enable people to find more creative , personalised, and effective ways to achieve their needs and outcomes.
Grampian Opportunities SDS team can help in the following ways:
Providing advice and information about Self Directed Support and the 4 options
Workshops and information sessions throughout Grampian
Support before, during and after assessment and review
Help to think about your support outcomes and make informed choices
Development of a first draft support plan for your assessment
Support with self-advocacy
Peer support with respite activities
