Work With us

Our Organisation works with vulnerable adults with long term conditions, mental health challenges, autism and learning disability. We use the term ‘learners’ and offer a range of services which promote learning leading to enhanced independence.

Please see details of our current vacancies. For informal information and discussions about a vacancy please call our office on 01467 629675 and ask for Karen Ross or Shirley Black

The services include - but are not limited to - independent travel, basic life skills, digital awareness and safety, health and wellbeing, confidence building, all things money, safe relationships, in work training, explore the world of work and get ready for work.

In addition, we operate a Social Club with a full cinema licence for the categories of people we work with alongside community coffee mornings, artist-supported classes, and an allotment for outdoor activities.

We have a weekly Get Creative Art Group, run by our Resident Artist, and supported by a volunteer Artist. Therapeutic chatting together groups, men's mental health group, therapeutic drumming and light exercise groups for health and wellbeing also take place regularly.

In addition to this we have the GO to Work club and this program is moving to become accredited. We work with families, carers and their cared-for to support them through the beginning stages of Self-Directed Support.

The structure of the Organisation consists of:

Members: we operate a two-tier membership, Affiliate and Full Member. Affiliate members will be invited to all AGM, general meetings, and consultations on future developments at Grampian Opportunities. This membership option does not enable you to vote on Opportunities matters, nor stand as a trustee. Full members, in addition to the ‘affiliate members’ benefits can vote at AGMs and general meetings, as well as standing for election as trustees.

Board: who hold regular Board meetings and control the activities of the Organisation. The Board has overall responsibility for the governance and financial sustainability of the Organisation. The people who serve on the Board are referred to as Non-Executive Directors (Trustees). The Board must have a minimum of three Non-Executive Directors at any time and the maximum number is nine.

Members:

  • Membership is open to anyone aged 18 and over who uphold the Organisation aims, purposes and wish to support the Organisation. Employees and volunteers of the Organisation are not eligible for membership
  • Any person wishing to become a member must complete the membership form. The application should be returned to the Charity Administrator (contact details below). Applications are then considered by the Board at the next Board meeting
  • Memberships must be renewed annually and the Board keep a register of all members
